It's a dream come true for one hundred lucky girls. But competition breeds excellence, and one wrong move will get you sent home at any time, for any reason. What happens when the country's best, brightest, and hawtest begin clawing their way to the top?

My Thoughts: When I first received this book I was thrilled! It was my very own first ARC I had ever received. I was so excited to get to read this before all of my friends got a hold of it. I absolutely loved this book. I think that the author did a fantastic job writing this book. She really left me hanging after I read the last paragraph of this book and now I really can't wait for the next one to come out even though technically this one hasn't even came out yet! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to wait. I really enjoyed how the author contrasted the characters. I also really enjoyed the fact that the author had a lot of technology such as holograms and hovercars used in this book. This book has inspired me to actually take a shot at reading the Clique series which Lisi Harrison also writes.

Recommendations: I recommend any teenage girl to read this.

Next Review: Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles

The Luxe

The Luxe
by Anna Godbersen

Grade: B+
Summary: (Credit to Barnes&Noble) Pretty girls in pretty dresses, partying until dawn.
Irresistible boys with mischievous smiles and dangerous intentions.
White lies, dark secrets, and scandalous hookups.
This is Manhattan, 1899.

Beautiful sisters Elizabeth and Diana Holland rule Manhattan's social scene. Or so it appears. When the girls discover their status among New York City's elite is far from secure, suddenly everyone—from the backstabbing socialite Penelope Hayes, to the debonair bachelor Henry Schoonmaker, to the spiteful maid Lina Broud—threatens Elizabeth's and Diana's golden future.

With the fate of the Hollands resting on her shoulders, Elizabeth must choose between family duty and true love. But when her carriage overturns near the East River, the girl whose glittering life lit up the city's gossip pages is swallowed by the rough current. As all of New York grieves, some begin to wonder whether life at the top proved too much for this ethereal beauty, or if, perhaps, someone wanted to see Manhattan's most celebrated daughter disappear...

In a world of luxury and deception, where appearance matters above everything and breaking the social code means running the risk of being ostracized forever, five teenagers lead dangerously scandalous lives. This thrilling trip to the age of innocence is anything but innocent.

My Thoughts: I hate to be so blunt, but this book took me forever to get into. It seriously took me at least 3 weeks to finally finish it. Of course, after I got into it, it ended up being a really good book and it was worth it to read it. I really like how the author had so many love triangles in this book, it made this book that much better. I of course say that though because I am a sucker for romance. Every book I read has to at least have a little bit of romance in it and this book gave me the little dose of it I needed to be satisfied. (: The book could be a little hard to understand it parts of the book but that was because things were very different back in 1899. I liked this book because it was pretty much just like Gossip Girl but it took place in an earlier time period. I don't think that I would ever read it again, but there are only few books that I would choose to read and they normally aren't a part of a series like The Luxe is.

Recommendation: I would recommend this book to teenage girls who either like reading books that take place in the past or like forbidden love.

Next Review: Alphas by Lisi Harrison

Contest at Princess Bookie!

Princess Bookie is having a contest that you can win 14 books or more! But now she's discovered that he's her guardian angel -- his presence so strong that she can feel the touch of his hand, the beat of his heart. Ivy needs Tristan now more than ever because he knows she's in terrible danger. Only Ivy's guardian angel can save her now that his killer is after her.
But if Tristan rescues Ivy, his mission on earth will be finished, and he must leave her behind forever. Will saving Ivy mean losing her just when he's finally reached her again?

My Thoughts: Okay, so I just love to read a good who done it murder mystery, which is basically what this is, but then it started talking about water angels and things like that, and that was a little weird for me. But I got over that little bit and the book was just a really worthwhile read. It had love and compassion, but it still kept you on your toes. I could never guess what was coming next, everything really surprised me. Sometimes you'll get those predictable books that just bore you because you know what's going to happen next, this is not one of those books. I would definitely recommend this book to just about everyone, especially if you like a good murder mystery like I do.

Next Review: The Luxe by Anna Godbersen

The Truth About Forever

The Truth About Forever
Sarah Dessen
Grade: A+
Summary: (Credit to Barnes&Noble) Sixteen-year-old Macy Queen is looking forward to a long, boring summer. Her boyfriend is going away. She’s stuck with a dull-asdishwater job at the library. And she’ll spend all of her free time studying for the SATs or grieving silently with her mother over her father’s recent unexpected death. But everything changes when Macy is corralled into helping out at one of her mother’s open house events, and she meets the chaotic Wish Catering crew. Before long, Macy joins the Wish team. She loves everything about the work and the people. But the best thing about Wish is Wes—artistic, insightful, and understanding Wes—who gets Macy to look at life in a whole new way, and really start living it…

My Thoughts: I loved this book! I've personally been a huge fan of Sarah Dessen for a while now, and this is one of my favorites of hers. I really loved the contrasting of the two guys in Macy's life, Jason and Wes. Jason is more of a play by the rules kind of guy that goes away to Brain Camp, and Wes has a real taste for Truth-telling which has Macy viewing her life in a way she never thought she could. I gave this book an A+, and I can be a tough grader because I am very picky with what I read, so know that I truly mean this book deserves an A+, it's really worth the read. Honestly, I would probably recommend this book to just about anyone.

Next Review: Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler

Review On Its Way..

My first review I'm going to be getting to you will be one of my all-time favorites, The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen.
